On the last paddle up in the Whitsunday's this year, Stan one of my paddling mates, proudly stated that he finally had a piece of gear that I did not (ok ladies, you may find this all a little hard to understand but it is probably a guy thing)

Surely not. I thought I figured I was the king of new jazzy things. Sure enough, he pulled out a spoon made of titanium!

"Titanium", I sneered, "Of what use is that unless I want to build a space shuttle anyhow?" I made a poor job of hiding my envy for his "little precious."

So in my quest to find cool things for you to have .... as in must have ...... I hope you like the following.

So here are four new items, and not one of them is made of Titanium:

1. Stretch Covers for your Kayak, let you get your craft out of the sun and keep those bugs from being squashed all over your new polish job when you are zooming off to you next paddling location.

Details:

The covers can be custom made for any kayak, and are a thick, close fitting, stretch knit material which is the same as those used for protecting surf boards - and those surfers are very protective of their boards!

Even more cool, these make great sleeping bags to cuddle down into on those camping weekends when you have forgotten your real sleeping bag at homes at home!

Drop us a note and we can fill you in on a cover for you.

2. Cool Sun Protection On The Water - from GoSo Products.

Polo Shirts for paddling.

This cool, revolutionary MicroTex TM Fabric is lighter and cooler than most material on the market. With an SPF 50 UV protection, mesh underarm panels, adjustable sleeve tabs and a sun wise collar, this shirt works as well as it looks.

Dries quickly, with a well ventilated feel and treated with a anti-microbial treatment to keep the dreaded pong at bay.

Comes in a range of great colours, including oem very bright flouro ones that will keep you seen!

3. Sails - from Pacific Action.

Action sails for your sea kayak, canoe or sit-on-top - a great product that allows you to get a lot of fun out of those days that are windy and you don't feel like slugging along into it!

These high quality sails are available in a multitude of configurations that will help you get some wind assistance and leave your mates behind!

If they aren't on our website yet it is because I have been too busy whooping it up with one of them in this windy weather!!

And get ready to do some fanging along!

4. Sprinter - from Ocean Kayaks.

Get that fitness training regime for summer on the go with the Ocean Kayaks Sprinter!

This kayak goes like a jet, and allows you to set a pace that feels like you are breaking an Olympic course record. This is a definite aid with your motivation to move along and keep that heart rate up!

Well designed for use with wing paddles, this narrow beamed kayak is fast yet stable.

Options of a further front deck hatch opening and backrests give you the option of using this kayak for afternoon trip and training at the same time. Put your chopped carrots and Tofu in the kayak and go.

Me, I'll take my greasy hamburger and bottle of coke, but hey, to each their own!
